Brisbane Walkers

This is a great walk between the bases of Mt Tibrogargan and Mt Tibberoowuccum, but includes a 100m walk up to the Jack Ferris Lookout for fabulous views of the surrounding peaks. Walk is suitable for everyone but the most unfit. The circuit gets its name from the type of volcanic rock which forms many of the Glasshouse Mountains.

We meet on the Tibrogargan Trail Head, off Marshs Road where there is a large car park and toilets.

BRING: $3 in coins, and water, and snacks for the lookout where we'll stop to enjoy the view.
WEAR: sunscreen and a hat

PARKING: make sure you arrive 15 minutes early in case there are many cars in the carpark.
NOTE: think about heading to the Sunshine Coast afterwards for a swim and beach

UNDER HEAVY RAINFOREST CANOPY: We had to cancel this walk in October because of rain.

This fantastic walk starts OPPOSITE Maiala Day Use Area carpark but park in this carpark or just outside. Then walk over the road, and UP for about 20 metres. Meet there.

NOTE! Road is winding in Mt Glorious area, so drive carefully, and leave earlier to make the start time.

The tallest bridge in Brisbane - the new Kangaroo Point Bridge - opens on December 15, so not a good time for our walk.

WALK INFO - PLEASE READ
1. Walk starts outside the Convenience Store in the carpark area of Dockside Brisbane Apartments. Click on the map on this page so you know where that is! Seriously, guys!! Make sure you leave home early enough to get a carpark, because this whole area of Kangaroo Point is high-residential and busy with walkers, bike riders etc. I never have a problem because I don't aim for the perfect carpark - I'm sneaky and wander around the back streets.
2. We then walk around the river front, down to the Kangaroo Point Bridge, over it, then walk down to the new Neville Bonner Bridge and walk over it to Southbank, where we'll stop at a cafe for 'whatever you want'.
3. Note: happy for us all to go up to the Sky Deck at the Casino for the truly AMAZING views of Brisbane. We did this a few weeks ago, and were blown away.
