Adventure in Esk! Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (flat + 10km) + lunch @ Roastery

Details

Esk is only one hour from Brisbane City - more or less, depending on where you live (for example, just 45 minutes from Forest Lake).

It's a gorgeous little town at the base of hills and the well-known Glen Rock. The walk is very, very pretty through the countryside.

The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is the longest rail trail in Australia at 161 km, following the disused Brisbane Valley rail line that commenced construction at Wulkuraka near Ipswich in 1884 and was completed at Yarraman in 1913.

We'll walk to the second rail bridge which is about 5kms into the walk, have a sit under the bridge to enjoy a snack and the surroundings, and then head back on the same track, through town to the Brisbane Valley Coffee Roastry.

WEAR: shoes with good grip, sunscreen and a hat
BRING: $3 in coins, 1L of water, snacks in your small backpack
PARKING: we'll be starting the walk from a small park at the corner of Russell and Hassell Streets, Esk (see the IGA, and that's Hassall Street). Please park considerately in these small streets!!
MEET: in the park
DOGS: ok
