Chess in December

The YMCA of Downtown Manchester is hosting Rapid Quad Tournaments on December 3rd, 10th, and 17th!
We will form groups of four based on strength, and members of each group will play each other - that's three quick games in one evening. All ages and skill levels welcome! We will form sections for non-members of USCF (non-rated) as well as rated sections for USCF members.
Tournament Schedule:
6:00pm - Check in; Setup; Discussion on tactics and puzzle themes with Craig
6:15pm - Check-in closes; Game pairings formulated; Announcements
6:30pm - Games begin
Arrive no later than 6:15pm to ensure a pairing. If you expect to arrive after 6:15pm, please contact organizer to secure a pairing.
Facility closes at 9:00pm.
Tournament Details:
Tournament is three rounds in one night with sections comprising 4 people.
USCF rapid rated. G/15; +5. Quad style pairing. Non-members of USCF welcome for non-rated section. Current US Chess Federation membership required for rated section.
Entry Fee:
$10 for non-members for the entire month. Free to members of the Granite YMCA.
Prize:
Entry fee is refunded to the winner, and their name goes on the Y Chess Champions Cup.
Parking & Accessibility:
Metered on-street parking available, but limited. Parking garage is one block away at 2-98 Plaza Dr in Manchester. Elevator from street level is available. Ring buzzer for assistance. Chess event is on the second floor.
