Holiday Fun at the Brandywine Museum of Art Nov. 16

Details

Join us for a delightful holiday outing to the Brandywine Museum of Art, where the enchanting Brandywine Railroad returns for another festive season. This beloved display, running since 1972, showcases over 1,000 intricately crafted train pieces traveling along 2,000 feet of track. You'll enjoy the sight of model trains passing through detailed scenes featuring villages, farms, and even a carnival, with familiar brands like Lionel, Atlas, and K-line making an appearance. Interactive elements throughout the exhibit provide a hands-on experience, making it a perfect event for all ages.

Additionally, explore the accompanying Wonderful World of Wyeth Miniatures exhibition, running from November 16, 2024, to January 5, 2025. This exhibit offers a glimpse into the creative spirit of the Wyeth family through their beautifully crafted dollhouses and model trains. Discover how these whimsical miniatures, built and collected by family members, capture the magic and joy of the holiday season. Featured pieces include a nine-foot-tall dollhouse with handmade furnishings and art, as well as a unique model train set jointly owned by Jamie Wyeth and Andy Warhol. Don't miss this special celebration of art, imagination, and holiday wonder!

Beyond its captivating holiday exhibits, the Brandywine Museum of Art offers a stunning year-round experience. Nestled along the banks of the Brandywine River, the museum is renowned for its collection of American art, particularly works by the Wyeth family. Visitors can explore beautifully curated galleries that showcase landscapes, portraits, and still life paintings, with an emphasis on regional artists and themes. The museum’s glass-walled atrium provides breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, further connecting the artwork inside with the natural beauty outside.
