Are you a nerdy, geeky, woman who is passionate about all things fandom? Are you female identifying and have seen every episode of Star Trek, Doctor Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sailor Moon, or something similarly awesome? Are you a lady who has read all the Harry Potter books, Lord of the Rings, or everything Neil Gaiman has ever written? Do you have strong opinions about DC vs. Marvel? Are you a fan of cosplay, fanfiction, and/or own many, many nerdy t-shirts? Do you love sharing all of these interests with other nerdy, geeky women?
If you answered yes to these questions, then the Chicago Geek Women The Reboot might be the place for you! This is not a prequel, or sequel, but a reboot of an amazing group that we want to revive.
Chicago Geek Women is a volunteer-run group celebrating diverse women/female identifying folks in geek culture. Our mission is to support and encourage women to pursue what they enjoy — whether your love of geeky things began as a child, or was discovered recently, CGW welcomes you with open arms.
We welcome all women regardless gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, or religion. Because we value the safety and security of our members, we do not tolerate harassment of members or event participants in any form.
In addition, the Chicago Geek Women Meetup is not a dating group and is not open to planning or announcing any type of dating, singles, or matching events. Thank you for respecting that.
