Electric Vehicles
We've all heard of EVs, but do we fully understand their role in the climate crisis? What's preventing a quicker adoption of EVs? Even if we could replace oil-powered cars with EVs really quickly, what impact would that have on the climate crisis?
We'll be exploring these questions and more in this learning circle session.
Note
We'll be using online tools such as Miro and screenshare presentations, so it's preferable to join us via a computer, rather than a phone, if you can.
What is a learning circle?
A learning circle is a group of curious individuals who come together to learn something and make friends. We ask each other questions, seek out answers, and share what we find with others. There is no 'font of all knowledge' teacher, just a facilitator who will be learning along with you.
Each session focuses on a small portion of the climate crisis, with the goal of gradually building a more complete understanding of the crisis.
Past session topic include:
- green growth
- planetary boundaries
- peak oil
- ecological footprint and ecological overshoot
What do you mean by 'climate crisis'?
We're using 'climate crisis' as a catch-all term for the numerous impending social, economic, and ecological crises. Terms like climate change, ecological overshoot, the metacrisis, food insecurity, the polycrisis, global warming etc all fall under our 'climate crisis' umbrella term.
