Roar with COAR: November

Details

Frustrated at racism and the audacity of whiteness? Need to vent but don’t know where or who you can turn to? Well COAR is here!

We call on all anti-racist advocates to ROAR with COAR in our monthly discussion group !In these meetings we will discuss the issues we believe are paramount to address in anti-racist spaces.

ROAR with COAR follows a book club format where you are welcome to engage with our resources we have curated or you can simply join the conversation on the day.

Our space is BIPOC-centred, but those outside of the community are welcome to come and listen to the conversation.

This learning environment will follow COAR’s principled space guidelines.

This is a supportive space that holds people accountable as we learn and grow in our understanding of what we discuss.Read COAR’s Principled Space Guidelines here: https://www.collective-on-anti-racism.com/our-principled...

For the month of November our Roar with COAR topic is: Reflections and Resolutions

The discussion will take place at the Food Co-op Shop and Cafe. This venue is located at 3 Kingsley St, Canberra ACT 2601. It is fully wheelchair accessible with ramps leading to both entrances. It is an approximately 10 minute walk from the Alinga Street light rail stop.
Bring yourself and friends along to expand your knowledge on anti-racism and be a part of COAR’s community of passionate individuals coming together to grow in our anti-racist journeys.

We also have an anonymous question form, for any questions you have that you want to ask anonymously: https://forms.gle/6CMaFit3URbAt5zZ8
If you have any concerns or are interested in talking through anything more please feel free to reach out us on COAR’s social media or email us at [email protected]

COAR acknowledges that our discussions will take place on the stolen lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Sovereignty was never ceded.

COAR commits to standing with First Nations People.

This Roar with COAR is supported by the ACT Government, through the Capital of Equality Grant.
