What we’re about
Do you want to make a difference in your community? Do you want to learn how to lobby your representatives? If so, then the Democracy Club is for you!
The Democracy Club is a Meetup group for citizens who want to learn how to make their voices heard in government. We meet at 10 A.M. on the Third Tuesday of every month when the Maine Legislature is not in session, and every Tuesday at 8:30 A.M. while the Maine House and Senate are in session, meeting in the Cross Cafe in the Cross Bldg.
At our meetings, we will provide instructions on how to lobby your representatives, describe different lobbying methods, and introduce you to your representatives. We will also discuss current legislation and how you can help others through advocacy.
We encourage everyone to attend our meetings, regardless of your experience or level of knowledge. We are here to help you learn how to make a difference in your community.
