Durham Social Connections 40+ (DSC)

Who we are...
We are men and women, aged 40+, single or married, who are looking to get out to meet new friends & have some fun in the Durham Region. DSC is not a singles group. Our events include bowling, billiards, darts, Learn to Play Darts, hiking, biking, pickleball, house parties, game nights, fitness, day trips, euchre, cribbage, poker, scavenger hunts, dancing, outdoor activities, comedy clubs, potlucks, dining out, casinos/ horse racing, movie nights, etc. 
Our group is co-ed and everyone aged 40+ is welcome. To join DSC, click on the REQUEST TO JOIN button. Also*, each member must have their own profile. If you and your partner want to join, please ensure you have your own individual profile. Requests to join as a couple will be declined.*

Membership is free, however, to join and continue to be a member of DSC you must agree to our DSC Liability Waiver, DSC Photo/Video/Image Release and Waiver and abide by our DSC Policies. You also agree to always have a recognizable picture of yourself on your profile AT ALL TIMES so we can recognize you at our events. If you do not abide by these terms, you may be removed from the group.  
DSC Waivers
DSC Liability Waiver: By joining Durham Social Connections (DSC) and registering for any event, you accept and acknowledge the following Liability Waiver: 
I do hereby absolve, release and waive any and all civil or criminal liability litigation claims or demands against Durham Social Connections Meetup (Organizer, Assistant Organizers, and event hosts), which may arise out of or be related to any injury, damage or pecuniary loss to me, my guest, or any member of my family by reason of involvement in any group or group related activities.

By joining Durham Social Connections, I accept this waiver, and hereby acknowledge that I am solely responsible for my safety during any event or group related activity and that if intoxicated, I will not operate a motorized vehicle after leaving any Durham Social Connections Meetup event. 
DSC may update this agreement at any time. It is your responsibility to review the most recent version of the DSC Liability Waiver frequently and remain informed about any changes to it. By continuing to remain a DSC member, you consent to any updates to the DSC Liability Waiver. This version of the agreement supersedes all earlier posted versions of the DSC Liability Waiver. If you do not agree to any provisions or changes to this DSC Liability Waiver, you should not join DSC or remove yourself as a DSC member by deleting your DSC Profile. For full details of our DSC Liability Waiver, please CLICK HERE
DSC Photo/Video/Image Release and Waiver: I hereby give Durham Social Connections Meetup, its Organizers, Event Organizers, DSC members and any other persons (collectively hereinafter referred to as "DSC Meetup") the irrevocable right to use my name, photograph, image, audio recording, video recording and likeness (collectively, hereinafter referred to as "My Image") in all forms and manner without notification to me on the DSC Meetup website. I understand that DSC Meetup cannot control the use of My Image by any persons once My Image has been published on the DSC Meetup website. DSC is not responsible for any persons who may use My Image on the DSC Meetup or outside of it. I hereby forever waive any right to inspect or approve any publication of My Image posted on the DSC Meetup website. I have carefully reviewed and understand the above provisions and agree to be bound by them. I voluntarily and irrevocably give my consent and agree to this release and waiver. For full details of our DSC Photo/Video/Image Release and Waiver, please CLICK HERE

DSC Policies: 
Your Profile: Please use your first name (plus last initial) on your profile, and post a picture of yourself so that we can recognize you at our events. Be advised that the DSC Organizers have no control over the identity of our members or control over the actions of any individuals who are present at the Meetup events. We request that our members exercise caution and good judgement when attending events. For full details of our Profile Policy please CLICK HERE
Attendance: You do not have to attend any of our wonderful events, it's totally optional. However, if you do RSVP "Yes" then please make sure that you show up. DSC has implemented a Three Strike Policy, and any member who receives three Strikes (XXX) for cancelling last minute or no-showing to three events will have their profile removed from our group until the date your last x expires after oneyear. For full details on our Attendance Rules please CLICK HERE
