What we’re about
The Dutch Outdoor & Hiking Group is for active folks that want to team up for hiking and outdoor sports activities in the Netherlands and abroad!
Activities
The main focus is on (multi-)day hikes and sport climbing. Other activities such as (trail) running and mountain biking are also organized. We strive to make all members feel welcome! However, besides a good condition, in some cases specific experience and outdoor gear are required to join an activity.
Destination
While being based in Brabant, the south of Limburg and the Ardennes in Belgium are frequent destinations because of the hills, rocks and great outdoor possibilities. Marked hiking trails, such as the Grande Randonnée or Pieterpad, are favorite options. We travel by public transport or organize a car pool.
Participating
When you RSVP "yes" for an activity, we expect you to join. If your plans change, please cancel at least 2 days in advance. Last-minute cancellations are not appreciated. In case of a "no show" (registering, not showing up and not communicating), you will be removed from the group. If you want to suggest an outdoor event yourself (highly appreciated), please contact the organizer of this group. From October 2024 onwards, we ask for a small contribution (~3 euro) to the (increased) yearly Meetup fee for some events. You find a secure payment link in the event description. When during a 12-month period the total membership fee is covered, rest of events can be without charge. Thanks for understanding and help support continuation of this group!
Disclaimer
This non-commercial group allows experienced hikers and outdoor sports aficionados to announce their willingness to do a given activity, find people to go along with and have a nice day. You are not supposed to be an expert, but to know your limits and choose to participate in an activity accordingly. Ultimately members are responsible for their own experience, safety and decision-making. The organizer(s), which are volunteers, cannot be held responsible in case of loss, accident or injury. Additional health insurance may be required for some sports (e.g. climbing and MTB). When you join this group, you agree with the above.
