Osteoporosis-My Way! Total Body Workout with Compound Movements & Super Sets
Join Angela Faschetti, physical fitness and yoga instructor and massage therapist specializing in wellness for older adults, as she teaches one of the strength training workouts she designed for herself which affected her former diagnosis of Osteoporosis, that of a 90-year-old, to age-appropriate osteopenia. No medications! Learn more about Angela here: https://boomerandbeyondwellness.com/angela-fischetti
The workout consists of compound movements and super sets. Compound movements affect both bone and muscle strength. With compound movements, you work multiple large muscles and multiple joints, simultaneously. This is why they are effective! They support ADLs, Activities of Daily Living, and they are functional movements, as well.
What to expect: Angela will teach 8 exercises, vertically, without any external resistance. You apply a sense of your own. This is to help those with chronic concerns, and new to strength training or exercise. We then move into super sets, with weights. Super sets work 2 exercises, back-to-back, without rest, thus 4 blocks of 2 exercises, each.
Over a dozen chronic health concerns will be addressed with appropriate modifications demonstrated for each issue.
The exercises:
-Squats
-Bent Over Unilateral Back Row
-Deadlifts
-Straight Arm Push Backs aka Straight Arm Press Backs
-Sumo Squats
-Planks
-Romanian Deadlifts
-Low Planks
The accessories (equipment):
-Sticky Yoga Mat
-Adjustable Workout Bench-not required; a sturdy chair without wheels will work
-A variety of weights: she will be using 8-25 pound weights.
