This month, we are fortunate in welcoming Professor David Paton to the group. David is an Associate Dean of Faculty and Resources at the Nottingham University Business School.
He is also a professor of Industrial Economics, and also has many of his thesis widely published in credible publications.
David will focus primarily on the experiences that he was unfortunate to endure on campus due to his controversial views about sensitive subjects.
This has primed him to become an ardent defender of free speech. He is extremely worried that alternative opinions are becoming taboo subjects within academia.
On this occasion, David will be addressing the recent parliamentary proposals on legalised assisted suicide. He has done research and submitted evidence to the Parliamentary Committee involved with this preliminary act.
He also has alternative views on Brexit and Covid measures, which saw him become somewhat a 'lone voice' amongst his fellow colleagues and students at the University Department. Questions and answers will follow.
Once again, join us for an interesting debate/discussion. All opinions are welcome, but please respect the opinions of others and use decorum when necessary.
The event is free, under the proviso that everyone buys at least one drink from the bar downstairs (non-alcoholic is included).
Look forward to debating with everyone.
