Event host Renee will lead this pre-holiday "turkey trot' (or tofurky!!) walk around the grounds. Please arrive by 945AM so that we can depart promptly at 10AM.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect, unwind, and embrace the serenity of Duke Farms. It has sights such as: a manmade waterfall (closed for the season), meditation field, Orchid house (was open as of Nov 9th), Watch Tower and a Sculpture Garden and rolling meadows come together to create a tranquil escape from our busy lives. Estimate length of walk: 2.5 - 3 miles.
Whether you're a seasoned walker or simply looking to enjoy the outdoors, the trails at Duke Farms are suitable for all levels of fitness.
We will accommodate as many as we can within the Duke Farms policy.
There's a cafe in the Orientation/Welcome Center. You can grab a coffee before or lunch after . Much of the food is grown onsite or locally sourced with light lunch offerings (e.g., sandwiches, salads, bakery treats, etc.). No outside food is permitted. There are restrooms located in the orientation center and three throughout the property.
This has been a very popular walk in the past and may create a waitlist. If so, we will keep you posted if a slot opens up.
Here's a chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of the natural world while enjoying the company of like-minded women.
RAIN CANCELS EVENT
Note: Entrance Cost: Free No pre-reserved parking permit is needed.
Duke Farms has an app you can download to use a detailed map to help you navigate the park, plus photos and other information you may find interesting. It’s called Duke Farms in the Apple App Store, and Duke Farms Official Guide in the Android App Store. Visit their website at https://www.dukefarms.org/ for information. (Did You Know?
At 2,740 acres, Duke Farms is larger than 75% of New Jersey towns.)
First timers to Duke Farms I recommend coming early or staying afterwards to hear a 10-15 minute film on the history and goals of Duke Farms. It is shown in the main visitor building on a continual loop.
Hope you can make it!
