Are you looking for a family friendly, camping and outdoor activity group that are happy to explore the area and keep the kids active. Stop looking! Here we are.
Realising that the vast majority of people camping and caravanning are a wonderfully funny bunch, we decided to put together ‘GET OUT OF TOWN - Family Adventures Brisbane’. The idea behind our group is to share the lovely spots we’ve found on our travels and pick up a few more from the like-minded people that join us. We now have an extensive and ever expanding bucket list of places to see and things to do.
Over the last few years we’ve ventured to countless holiday parks, dams, farm stays, beaches, creeks and bushland. Queensland’s weather offers countless days of perfection so we make the most of it generally heading out at least once a month and almost weekly if we can. It seems anywhere with water is a hit with the kids so grab your swag, tent, camper, caravan, floatation device, bicycle, kite or whatever takes your fancy, chuck it in your car and we’ll make a day or weekend of it. We have a focus on low cost options when it comes to choosing activities and locations, but feel free to throw your suggestions forward and we’ll give it a go! Most events are pet friendly so your fur babies can be part of the adventures too.

We charge an annual fee of $10 per family which funds the Meetup site subscription fees and numerous sausage sizzles throughout the year.
