What we’re about
The purpose of Halifax Indie Devs Play and Tell is to provide a supportive community for independent game developers in Halifax NS.
The group is aimed at anyone who is passionate about creating games and wants to connect with like-minded people to share knowledge and experiences. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, everyone is welcome to join.
At our events, we will primarily focus on sharing knowledge, playtesting each other's games and providing constructive feedback. Members will have the opportunity to showcase their latest projects and receive feedback from the group, with the goal of helping everyone improve their games and grow as developers.
We will also have opportunities for group discussions, networking, and skill-sharing sessions.

Welcome to the Halifax Indie Devs Play and Tell meetup! Our group is all about supporting and connecting independent game developers in Halifax.
Our meetup is being kindly sponsored by Maritime Digital Art and Design and will be held at their office: 5516 Spring Garden Rd #202, Halifax, NS B3J 1G5, Floor 2. The main door may be locked, so buzz in 9062 to be let in.
At our meetups get to know each other, share our experiences and goals as indie game developers, and provide feedback on each other's work. Everyone is encouraged to bring whatever they're working on, whether it's a game prototype, artwork, or design ideas. This is a great opportunity to get feedback and constructive criticism from fellow developers in the community. You don't need to bring anything if you don't have something to share, feel free to just give feedback to others and network :)
To optimize the playtesting and networking sessions, we will have two presentations before a dedicated networking and playtesting break, followed by two more presentations afterwards. In order to provide equal opportunities for everyone, we kindly request that those who have already presented in the previous meetup refrain from presenting in this one. This will ensure a fair chance for others to showcase their work.
We're looking forward to meeting you all and continue building a strong indie game development community in Halifax. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We can't wait to see what everyone has been working on!
The NS GameDev discord is a great place to find us between meetups and chat with other game developers in the province: https://discord.gg/GrB4kUyswy
