SUNDAY FUNDAY @ Granite Bay at a Reasonable Pace
Details
Join us for a fun and challenging 11-13 mile ride at a reasonable pace of 8-12 mph average over lots of single track, rock rolls, and granite slabs. The route is typically the vanilla route and is subject to change. Sometimes we’ll head out to Blue Pipe or try some more challenging section depending on attendance. We will regroup at trail intersections as needed and will make it a point not to lose anyone.
This ride is at a reasonable pace, not a race but not slow, either. Please note: This is not a beginner ride. This ride is more of an intermediate skill level ride.
BRING:
*Well tuned mountain bike (no hybrids),
*Helmet, water, fix-a-flat stuff, first aid, and positive attitude!
*Post ride beverages or snacks for yourself or to share and a chair.
FOR GROUP RIDING AWARENESS:
*RSVP in advance so we can pre-plan our routes according to turnout.
*You are responsible for your own safety and riding abilities.
*If you peel off early, let someone in the group know before doing so.
*If we have a big group, be prepared to help lead a smaller subgroup.
*Trails can be loose in turns in dry months, wash outs can happen.
*Be sure you can handle riding in hot temps during summer months.
*Poison Oaks is everywhere, so no touchy touchy.
*Allow reasonable space between riders especially through tech sections.
*Stronger, more skilled riders should ride towards front of pack.
*Slower, less skilled riders should ride mid to back of the pack.
*Always let the rider behind you know which way the group is turning.
*Guests must meet skill and fitness requirements of this ride.
POST RIDE COMRADERY:
As always, join us for post ride fun. Bring a chair, your favorite beverage and a post ride snack if desired. Please no smoking amongst the group. Thank you.
