What we’re about
Join us at Heartwood Preserve Conservation Cemetery for free activities and tours. Events vary, but focus on nature education, meditation, and healing movement.
Most events are hybrid indoor-outdoor. Please wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing, and sun protection. The nature preserve and cemetery have well-maintained footpaths but are still part of Wild Florida--prepare for uneven terrain, a hot and humid climate, sharp saw palmetto leaves, and mosquitos.
Amenities provided at the Heartwood Preserve Welcome Center:
- Water fountain and water bottle refill station
- Restrooms
- Air conditioning
- Chairs
- Sunscreen
- Bug repellant
- Paper fans
It is our goal to reduce our reliance on single-use plastics at the Welcome Center. We have glassware and paper cups available if you do not have a reusable water bottle to bring with you.
Notify staff if you will require the use of our golf cart for transportation within the preserve. We are happy to make accommodations as necessary for accessibility.
Please note that only certified, on-duty service animals are allowed at Heartwood Preserve events. Even the most well-behaved pets can be a distraction to others. On occasion, Heartwood Preserve hosts events that feature wild animals; for the safety of our guest fauna and your furry friends, we recommend leaving pets at home.
