We are the premier Baltimore Hiking group with over 8,000 members.
This group is for all those who are dedicated to hiking, biking, camping, and any other fun outdoor activity in and around Baltimore whether in the natural areas or urban settings. We offer a range of activities at different times and locations, and encourage all members to make suggestions or plan and lead events.

See all- 5 Miler Night Hike: TowsonBurlington, Towson, MD
Because a number of parks containing trails close at sunset, does not mean ceasing our hiking activities and health goals on a weekday. Thus, now through March 2025, we are providing weekday urban night hikes.
We will experience Towson's beautiful neighborhoods & venture through some wooded trails. Bring a headlamp, mobile phone with flashlight, etc. for added illumination.
Nice temperatures in the upper 60s expected.
Definitely bring a great social attitude and a fun spirit. Also come with water.
EVERYONE submitting a RSVP for this hike will START on the Waitlist. Next, we will add consistently reliable members and then attempt to give others a chance to participate.

NOTE: This is primarily a paved terrain hike. There are a few fun hills (Elevation Gain @ approximately 375 feet). This is a hike for those who hike or walk at least 5 miles per week at a moderate pace. If you have challenges going up and down hills then this hike may not be for you. Also please RSVP only if you can maintain a medium pace during the hike. THANKS.
SUGGESTED MATERIALS: Running/trail running shoes, sneakers or comfortable walking shoes with treads. and a headlamp, mobile phone, etc. for illumination.

- Gettysburg Battlefield Hike - Approx ~7+/- Miles, ~400+/- ft elevationGettysburg Battlefield Amphiteater, Gettysburg, PA
The Gettysburg Hike will take us through General Longstreet's July 2nd Attack. The hike will consist of roads, through the woods, and over battlefields long ago where our brothers fought for their freedoms. This is a phenomenal hike.
*Meet at General Longstreet Memorial on W. Confederate Avenue, Amphitheater parking lot. There is NO CHARGE TO ENTER AND PARK HERE.

**Please arrive early at 9:45am and ready to step off at 10:00am**
We will hike up the street to the tower, past the Snyder farm, up to little round top, down to devil's den, into the wheatfield, through the peach orchard, and back up to U.S. Avenue.
*We will stop along the way at various memorials and such but please keep in mind this is a hike so if you need more time for pictures you can always visit again. :)

Let's walk to the Christmas Tree, Lights & Fireworks @ The National Harbor
Come join us on an easy-moderate approx 8-9+/- mile 243 ft elevation gain 2.5 mph walk from Alexandria, starting at Jones Point Park. We will walk along the water in Alexandria, then walk across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to the National Harbor located in Maryland (Oxen Hill).

We will eat dinner (bring your own or there are many take-out places) at the National Harbor (you can pick your own place to get food). I am bringing my own food and I plan on eating outside by the tree & harbor. You are welcome to join me. But if you are cold there are several restaurants with indoor dining.We will enjoy the daytime views of Alexandria, DC and the National Harbor from the bridge. Then we will enjoy the sunset, and the lights at the National Harbor. At 5:30 they light the 60 foot Christmas Tree adorned with over 2,000,000 twinkling Christmas lights. Following the lighting of the tree, there will be a fireworks show as well. When that is done, we will start to head back to our cars and enjoy the lighted views of the National Harbor, Alexandria and DC. We should be done and in our cars by 8pm (But plan for 9pm just in case we don't want to leave)
BRING WATER, & HEADLAMP OR FLASHLIGHT
WEAR SNEAKERS or any hiking shoes, your choice. (I am wearing sneakers)
DRESS WARM-BE PREPARED AS THE TEMPERATURE WILL DROP AS THE SUN SETS & AS WE WALK BACK ACROSS THE BRIDGE. And there is always wind as you walk across the bridge AND IT WILL BE COLD!!!
