**Read the description**

**Trail** **notes**: The hike is classified hard due to the elevation gain, the steepness and the time spent hiking the trail. The trail is about 9km long, with an elevation gain of about 670 metres. Allow 6 hours.

**Meeting point:** we can meet just off Spring Creek Rd, just near Brett Rd. If there are many hikers then it may be necessary to meet in Boonah and carpool there. I will provide the necessary information the day before the hike. We meet at Brett Rd at 7:45am to start the walk at 8am.

**Mount Superbus**: Mount Superbus is South East Queensland's highest peak at 1,375 metres At this elevation, it is the fifth-highest peak in Queensland, after Mount Bartle Frere at 1,622 metres, Mount Bellenden Ker at 1,593 metres, Mount Fisher at 1,385 metres and Mount Carbine Tableland at 1,383 metres, all in Far North Queensland.

**What to bring**: must have plenty of water 2 litres, snacks (sandwiches, tinned meat, dry fruit, fresh fruit, bars, small meals such as rice, boiled eggs).
Hiking gear: a medium hiking backpack, hiking clothes: long trousers and shirt with long sleeve are preferable; hiking ankle supportive boots; first aid kit; insect repellent (for environmental reasons use the roll on and the cream; AVOID THE SPRAY, Bushman cream is good); hat, sunscreen, gloves; light raincoat; working torch; tissues; mobile phone; walking poles if you like to use them.
Consider to pack some extra clothes and leave them in the car. Pack some clean footwear and socks.
Money for the coffee shop and your inner happiness.
There is a collection of two dollars donation to help run the group, thank you.

**Directions:** from Boonah follow the Boonah Rathdowney Rd; turn right onto Carneys Creek Rd, then right onto Head Rd which becomes Spring Creek Rd. Brett Rd is a narraow dirt rd closed by a gate.
Parking and carpooling: there is limited carparking available off road. Depending on the number of hikers, it may be necessary to carpool in Boonah.

**Lifts**: if you would like to travel with someone, offer a lift or ask for a lift, please put your request on the comments. Consider to offer $15.00 to the driver as a contribution, each passenger, depending on the distance. You may choose the most convenient location for you and the driver as a pick up point.
Please make sure to have with you a change of clothes and clean footwear as a courtesy to your driver. Carry with you spare plastic bags to put away muddy boots.

WE WALK AS A GROUP ALL THE TIME. PLEASE NEVER LEAVE THE GROUP.
Read the description and if you would like to bring friends, ask them to join the Group so they can be nominated for all the interesting activities the group has to offer and they can have all the necessary information.
Take all your rubbish with you, including used tissues, apple cores, orange and banana peels. If you see rubbish on the trail please collect it and dispose it responsibly.
Do not remove plants or anything from National Parks or Natural Reserves.

**Phone reception and Internet:** Plan your trip in advance and it is a good idea to carry a map of the area in your car. Consider that if your GPS runs on Internet it may lose the phone signal. The phone coverage may be also poor and may be difficult to send and receive messages.

**Personal Responsibility Principle:** This Group is not a registered association or official club. Principally it is a Group with a wide range of activities and events with organisers designed to get likeminded people together as a group, completing various activities with safety in numbers in mind. The Meetup group and Organisers cannot be held responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur during the event or as a result of the event in the future. By attending this meetup you accept and acknowledge that you are responsible for your own safety. It is up to individual members to determine if they have suitable robust good health to undertake the walk.
