What we’re about
"How did they come up with that?"
" with 'yes, and.'"
This group is for those who are interested in learning, practicing, or just experiencing improvisational theater -- the art of creating live stories without any script. Particularly, if you love to laugh, love to play, and deeply enjoy other people, you're going to have a good time here. All skill levels are accepted -- everyone from long time performers, to improv newbies, to those who just saw "Whose Line is it Anyway?" on television one day and had a chuckle.
"Improv is the intersection of Love and Fear"
This group is intended to foster an improv community in which we can enjoy once-in-a-lifetime theatrical experiences, hone our improv skills, and appreciate the hilarity that ensues when you skydive without a parachute. At our meetings, we'll work on developing skills in all kinds of improv, with a focus on a particular skill area each week, and we should have a lot of fun doing it.
If you're scared of getting on stage, but love improv, there's a place for you too! We love to have audience members -- especially if you have an awesome laugh :)
Hope to see you soon!

About the facilitator:
Greg Knox is a seasoned actor from Knoxville with a rich background in both theatre and film. As a member of Knoxville's Pretend Friends improv troupe, Greg has honed his craft on the stage, bringing characters to life in a range of productions. His love for improvised entertainment began long before he stepped on stage, and he has continuously refined his skills through performances, classes, and workshops. Improvisation has been a cornerstone of Greg's development as an actor, providing invaluable skills that translate seamlessly to traditional acting. The spontaneity and quick-thinking required in improv not only sharpen an actor's reflexes but also deepen their ability to connect authentically with both their scene partners and the audience. He is excited to share his passion and insights, where he aims to show others how to explore the endless possibilities that improvisation offers.
