What we’re about
Welcome to Ink Affair! (insta: @inkaffairtga)
A book club based in Tauranga, New Zealand with meetings being held at 3pm on the last Sunday of the month (or Monday if it is a public holiday) in the afternoon.
Our book affairs last for 1.5 - 2 hours. The first hour is to discuss the book and the remaining half an hour is to socialise/exchange books/organise future book affairs.
Members take turns hosting the book affairs. The host for the month is responsible for leading the discussion but anyone in the group can ask questions.
Ink Affair welcomes everyone to participate in our book affairs. Whether you can attend every month, sporadically or one in one particular season.
Individuals must manually register for each event.
Please feel free to take a look through some of our past events to get an idea of what we're about.
General Attendance Policy:
- We encourage you to have read the book (or most of it), but if you didn't get a chance to, don't let that stop you from attending. Some members find it beneficial to read the book after discussing it.
- Please respect everyone's opinions and ideas and use common courtesy when participating.
BOOK RESTRICTIONS
Books must:
- not be excessive in length (we recommend less than 500 pages)
- be in English
- be readily available for sale or lend (i.e. not a rare or unusually expensive book)
- be suitable for discussion
Bring along any books you may like to exchange with other members which will be done in the final half an hour.
