Founder, Joseph Awadalla: USPTR certified. Joe has been playing and coaching tennis for over twenty-five years. Joe also won several single and double championship tournaments in the DMV and is still competing in USTA at a high 4.5 level. His passion to help people improve their game and techniques regardless of their level. Joe also enjoy providing an excellent workout by maintaining dynamic drills with minimal wait time.

OUR STAFF:

Thomas Cyrnak:
Thomas started cometitive training for tennis in his late teens and soon fell in love with the sport. He competed in multiple leagues around the Northern Virginia area to reach 4.5 ntrp. He has a passion for coaching to share what he learned throughout the years. Thomas is the nightmare of league players in doubles for his big serve and putaway poaching. Also Tom is an excellent singles players known by his monster forehand and exceptional defensive skills.

Mohamed Salah: Former Top 10 junior players under 18 in Egypt and coached top ITF Egyptian players as Mohamed Safwat (Best ranking 125 in the world) and Sandra Samir. Mo also has international coaching experience in Spain at Juan Carlos Ferro's Academy and French top player and coach Saulnier Cyril. Mo is very creative in his drills to challenge his student in trying new techniques and drills to improve their power and consistency.

Rayan Khalifi: Rayan was raised in Morocco where he quickly rose through the ranks and represented his country as a member of the national team for several years. His achievements include winning numerous titles, such as the junior ITF events and the Africa Championship. During his high school years, he also secured regional and state championship titles. Currently, Rayan competes as a Division I college player at GMU.
For the past three years, Rayan has been teaching tennis in the DMV area. His passion for the sport extends beyond playing; he is dedicated to sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with others. As a coach, Rayan is committed to creating an environment where students can both enjoy and excel. He skillfully blends fun with learning, ensuring that each lesson is engaging and productive.

Rules of conduct:
• Please maintain a friendly attitude on the courts since we are all here to learn and have fun. Be aware that everyone has a different skill set and we have to respect each other. Please don't be offended if we address you individually if we observe any bad sportsmanship. Continuing bad behavior may result in removal from the meetup group. we hope everyone understands.
This is a tennis group for adults beginners, intermediates, and advanced who want to have fun learning and playing tennis.
Beginners:
• New to tennis, as took few lessons or haven't taken lessons at all.
• Technically dont have the basic strokes forehand and backhands, serves, volleys and overheards.
• Not able to mantain a consistent rally due to poor eye hand ball coordination.

• Focus on improving technique, footwork, and consistency with rally play.
Intermediate:
• Have taken lessons and played before but not too often.
• Technically is able to hit serves consistently in the court and are able to rally with fluent forehand or backhands with players or their same level. Have basic knowledge of volley and can rally.
• Tactically can place and hit tennis balls across the court and down the line and also have a variation on power and height.
• Intermediate lessons are focused on improving consistency, control, and placement on the court while improving footwork.
Advanced:
• Take lessons regularly and play matches often, for practice or competitively.
• Focus on match play with strategy and developing more power and accuracy on shots while improving fitness conditions.
STUDENT-TO-COACH RATIO:
Coach/Player Ratio:
Maximum 1/6 for 90 minute session.
Maximum 1/8 for two hours session.
1. One or Two Person policy:
• If only one or two persons RSVPd for a group lesson it will be canceled. The minimum requirement for a group is three participants.
• If a session is canceled, the single or two players that RSVPd has the option to take a private or semi-private session with the same meetup group rate. A single person will get a thirty-minute private and two players get one hour lesson.
MOVING UP A LEVEL
• The coaches are the only ones that will determine if you are ready for the next level or not. Please consult us in advance if you have questions about your level.
Meetup lessons: All meetup hours are group lessons, (not private). Private lessons have a higher price and are not handled through meetup but by meetup messages, phone calls or text messages.
Steps for morning group lessons.
1.-RSVP "YES" if you are coming to secure your spot on the lesson. Update RSVP to "NO" if you are not attending.
2.-Groups might mix sometimes, so be aware that coaches might regroup you according to your level, so everybody can work on exercises for their own level. we hope everyone understands.
Steps evening lessons 6 pm to 9 pm:
1.-RSVP "YES" if you are coming to secure your spot on the lesson. Update RSVP to "NO" if you are not attending.
2.-Make sure you RSVP for the lesson according to your level, if the coaches don't think you belong to the lesson you RSVP the coaches might regroup you. We hope everyone understands.
Meetup location:
These meetup lessons take place at different locations that we think are more accessible for everybody, but any new suggestion for new locations is welcome in the DMV area as long as there are 3 or more people attending to those locations. Feel free to suggest a meetup event.
Guest Policies:
1.-Anybody is allowed to bring a guest to any lesson but the guest has to be on the same level as the member.
2.-All guests have to pay the same-day single session cost as discounts only apply to members.
3.-Any member that bring one guest to a lesson, the member will get up to $10 depending on the location they are bringing their guests. Discounts will be listed in the session details.
Rates:
• Group lessons: please check session details.
• Private lessons: Ask the coaches.
-Contact us through phone number or meetup APP to book a private lesson.
CANCELATIONS: The session will be canceled and comments will be posted. The message will be sent when the lesson is canceled.
-One or two-person policy cancellation.
-Outdoor and below 40 degrees cancellation.
-Rain cancellation.

THIS MEETUP IS ONLY FOR PLAYERS 13(+), NOT SENIORS OR BEGINNERS ABOVE 70 yrs old OR KIDS.
For players under 18, please bring your parent at the first session as consent to join the session.

By participating in the tennis playing group organized by Love&Learn Tennis, players agree to acknowledge and assume all associated risks, releasing Love&Learn Tennis crew and its organizers from any liability for injuries or damages. Players further agree to abide by the group's rules and, in the event of an emergency, authorize third-party medical treatment.
