Join Toastmasters: Newcastle & Surrounds

Due to the current COVID situation in NSW we sometimes offer hybrid meetings, as well as face-to-face meetings at Cessnock Leagues Club. There will still be a meeting every Monday night and visitors are always welcome to join us.

If you would like to attend a meeting as a visitor please contact us beforehand so we can give you the necessary information about the next meeting.

Visitors are most welcome to come and have a look (with no obligation to speak!) for several meetings before making a decision about whether to join the club.

Cessnock and Wine Country Toastmasters Club helps members become better communicators and develop the confidence to deal with any situation. Each meeting provides opportunities for members to speak to the group in various ways (e.g. present a short report or a longer speech, deliver a joke, read a poem or answer an impromptu question). Members give each other friendly feedback in the form of praise and tips for improvement. By practising in a friendly environment we develop the skills needed to communicate well and become effective leaders.

Toastmasters offers a formal program of achievement called Pathways through which members can progress, receiving recognition along the way. Alternatively, belonging to a Toastmasters club can be primarily a social activity that is personally very rewarding.

Whatever your individual approach to Toastmasters, you can talk about your passions and learn all kinds of interesting facts. Toastmasters meetings are educational and lots of fun!
