Georgia On My Mind; AT- Hogpen Gap to Unicoi Gap

The Adventure: Georgia on my mind...
Let's go to Georgia and hike more of the Appalachian Trail from Hogpen Gap to Unicoi Gap.
We will hike from route 358 to Hwy 17.
This is a +/- 13.4-mile track with around 2,500 ft of gain.

*We will need to shuttle from the Unicoi Gap area to the Hogpen Gap area to start our hike. This is a good 30-minute shuttle.

**Posting this now so you can get a cabin or campsite in the area if you wish to do so.

Some of us have reserved a cabin just outside of Blairville. Friday the 6th-Sunday the 8th.

76 miles of the AT is in Georgia. This will be one of several trips to hike the rest of those miles this year.

*We are only doing part of the purple part of this map. Hogpen Gap to Unicoi Gap (Hwy17). 13.4-miles, 2,500ft of gain.
We will meet at Unicoi Gap parking area to shuttle to Hogpen Gap.

**I'm thinking about another section on Sunday.
On Sunday before returning to Tennessee, I am thinking about hiking the section from Hogpen Gap to Neels Gap. This is a 6.5-mile section with 1,690' in gain.
