In 1970, four boys on the cusp of becoming teenagers notice strange events occurring in Maplewood, NH, timed with the late-night arrival of an old magician who has taken up residence in a boarding house in their neighborhood where one of the tenants is a reclusive pulp horror writer. The writer’s fears have kept him from venturing outside in over forty years, fears linked to the magician’s previous visit. As children go missing in town, the four boys try to piece together seemingly unrelated phenomena and realize dark forces are at work, but no one will believe them.

We'll be having The Grande's Harvest Afternoon tea. 🎃 You can expect 20 various teas to choose from, while eating tasty, cozy treats such as apple cinnamon scones and butternut squash soup. It's looking to fill those cozy fall vibes that we all love.

Before confirming your reservations, please read the below points:

• The price for the event is $60. Once your reservation has been confirmed, you will be contacted to pay your fee.
• Please let us know once you confirm your reservation, if you will require a vegetarian meal.
• Please don't cancel your RSVP the day before or on the day. Make sure you're committed to going! It hurts the group to have no-shows, plus, you paid for this event!
• Please do feel free to dress up in your finest tea attire or fall festival wear!

Join us for the next leg of our Walk to Mordor series as we journey through the stunning Cherokee Trail at Stone Mountain. Now 17 miles into our epic 1,779-mile quest, this 5-mile hike takes us through the dense forests and birch groves of the Shire, where the landscape grows wilder as we venture farther from the comforts of Hobbiton. Surrounded by towering trees and rocky outcrops, the Cherokee Trail offers a perfect mix of shaded woodlands and scenic views, capturing the rustic charm of the Shire's untamed beauty.

As we tread this historic trail, winding around the base of Stone Mountain, the peaceful sounds of rustling leaves and birdsong guide our way. The gentle ups and downs of the path, alongside sparkling creeks and moss-covered rocks, immerse us in Middle-earth's enchanting forests. With every step, we draw closer to the edge of the Shire, where new challenges await. Whether you're a hobbit at heart or simply along for the adventure, this leg promises a breathtaking journey into the heart of nature.

Boring logistics stuff:

- Parking inside the park is expensive ($20), so we can carpool to save $$.

- Meet in the parking lot of Stone Mountain Elementary School just outside the park gate. We’ll carpool in. Look for the ones in hobbit garb.

- There are restrooms available throughout the park.

- Hiking boots preferred due to the root-y and uneven rocky areas. Tennis/walking shoes will work as long as they have good tread.

- Pets are welcome on a leash.

As we reach 22 miles into our epic Walk to Mordor journey, the Shire's gentle landscape begins to shift. Join us for the next leg at Atlanta’s Westside Reservoir Park, where the rolling hills mimic the growing distance from Hobbiton’s peaceful meadows. This 3-mile hike takes us through one of Atlanta’s most scenic parks, featuring sweeping views, lush greenery, and terrain that mirrors the undulating hills of the Shire as we journey toward Bree.

With every step, the road grows a bit more rugged, though the beauty of Middle-earth surrounds us. Towering trees and vibrant wildflowers line the trail, while the park’s iconic quarry lake adds a sense of adventure to the journey. As we walk the rolling hills of Westside Reservoir Park, we’re reminded that our quest is just beginning, and the world beyond Hobbiton is vast and full of wonder. Grab your hobbit cloak and join us for the next step on the road to Mordor!

- Parking is free, but there are two entrances and two parking lots. Meet in Parking Lot I (address 1621 Johnson Rd NW, Atlanta, GA). Look for the folks in hobbit garb.

- There are restrooms available throughout the park.
