Meet Dereham

Tuesday night is always a very popular quiz night, at this lovely pub in Swanton Morley.

Food options: If you would like to eat at Darby's first, there will be stacked nachos, fish and chips, loaded fries with chilli, and veggie chilli toppings - all available before the quiz - gluten free options available.

Arrive at 6.30 pm for food first or 7.30 pm if you just want to take part in the quiz.

Parking in Dereham is free in all car parks, the drinks are suitably priced....and as an added bonus the toilets are pretty accessible ( unlike some venues in this group which you feel you need hiking gear for! 😉).

Food is available of course if needed!

This will be a walk along a maintained path and footpaths from Swanton Morley back to Dereham.

This is listed as a 5 mile wall by Norfolk C Council (and is 4.6 miles when plotted on Ordnance Survey Maps) - it will be no more than 5 miles!

We will meet at 11.10 am latest outside the cinema in Dereham Market Place and we will catch an 11.20 am bus to Swanton Morley - please remember bus fares!
Parking in Dereham is still free...

The walk is through pleasant countryside on maintained paths but please wear suitable footwear.

We will return for refreshments at The Romany Rye for 2 pm latest.

If you don't fancy walking but do fancy the 'food, drink, company', then feel free to sign up and join the walkers on their return!!

Annual Christmas Market

This currently has over 80 stalls booked, selling a wide range of items including gifts, clothes, jewellery, and chocolates! There will also be several food vendors.

The courtyard cafe will be open as usual, so we can browse the stalls and meet back here perhaps for lunch.

Play games, make friends, and show your skills ( or have a laugh!) at this lovely cafe and craft centre.

The refreshments normally on sale at the cafe are always available to purchase and include sausage rolls, soup, pastries, cakes, etc. ( including gluten-free) and hot drinks.

There is free parking very close to the cafe on Commercial Road ( opposite The Police Station), at Morrison's, and on Cowper Road.

This event will cost £2.50 (in cash please), to pay towards room hire. No member's fees are required .

Please bring a game with you - chess, card games, Scrabble, Frustration, Twister 🤣 Trivial Pursuit, etc... and Pictionary if possible!

We aim to have fun, and all you need is enthusiasm; or if you aren't feeling competitive, you can just come along for the company and lovely refreshments served by Jamie from the cafe ( who's also good at Pictionary 😉).

There are toilets on site.

This is a fun quiz for teams of up to 6.... with a picture round, general knowledge and news items/ questions, history, music, geography, sport etc.

We will meet at 7.30 pm for warm-up drinks (!) and the quiz starts at 8 pm.

There is free parking in Dereham close to the pub on Commercial Road, opposite the police station.

We always sit in the area directly to your left as you enter the pub, so we're easy to find.
