What we’re about
Moving On provides a safe environment for singles and singles again, to meet new people for friendship and support. We are a volunteer organization that offers a forum for the discussion of topics of interest of mature single persons who are ready to move on to new beginnings, and to setting new goals. We have a discussion once a month and go to dinner at least once a month. All mature single people are invited to join. The discussions are about being mature and single and not about separation or divorce.
The Moving On group of meetup.com is created for an existing organization call Moving On.. There are people at our events that do not sign on-line.
Moving On started many (perhaps 40) years ago when some people who had been in a support group for separated and divorce wanted to "Move on". They formed Moving On and invited other single people to join.
Moving On is not a support group for people going through initial trauma of separation, divorce or widowhood. It is for those who have complete that phase and want to move on. Click on "Branch out and Grow" to locate a group for the initial trauma of separation and divorce. This is an important phase. Many of our members have completed this program and now want to "move on".
While members are free to date, we are not a dating service. The only date you can expect at a first meetup is to see the person at the next meetup. We do not screen members. Some are only separated.
Moving on is not exclusive. It is friendly**.** Any single person is more than welcome to come. All its meet ups are designed to single friendly. Some couples who are former members are still members.
