Hello MWAG members!

This Kayak event starts at Albury and finish at Bundalong .
We will do car shuttle and camping .Need to be self sufficient.
Total distance is approximately 200km
We are now with 4 or 5 kayaks and can have another 2 to 4 .

DAY 1. Car shuttle to Bundalong. Put in below Hume Weir near Albury.
2\. Camp at Richardson’s Barnawatha Nth\. \(2160\)
3\. Sandy Beach camp just past Howlong\. \(2124\)
4\. Camp at either St Leonards Bend or Grantham Bend just up river from Corowa \(2088\)
5\. Taylors Bend \(2054\)
6\. Lower Ovens Regional Park\. \(2036\) Flow is slower in this section as it is part of Lake Mulwala\.
7\. Finish at Bundalong \(2022\)
8\. The numbers are the km marks near to where we are likely to camp\. These are approximate camp spots depending on distance travelled on the day\. We might decide to do some extra kms depending on speed of river and the participants\.
Currently water has been released from Hume Weir for irrigation in South Australia and flow is more than 5km per hour.
The following is what I intend to put onto the club website. If you think I should add anything else please let me know.
Paddling the Murray River from Albury to Bundalong. This is an interesting section of the Murray where we will paddle with the flow of the river and camp in bush camps mainly next to sandy beaches. We generally finish early in the afternoon and swim after setting up camp. The club does have some lightweight tents, self inflating thermarests and trangiasfor cooking that can be hired on a weekly basis. Kayaks need to be able to carry light weight camping equipment and the food and water required for the trip. Water from the river can be filtered and boiled for use. Currently water has been released from Hume Weir for irrigation in South Australia and flow is more than 5km per hour. Itinerary :- Day 1, Car shuttle to Bundalong. Put in below Hume Weir near Albury and start paddling after morning tea. Day 2, Camp at Richardson's at Barnawatha Nth. Day 3, A sandy beach camp just past Howlong. Day 4, Camp at either St Leonards Bend or Grantham Bend just up river from Corowa. Day 5, Camp at Taylors Bend. Day 6, Lower Ovens Regional Park. Flow is slower in this section as it is part of Lake Mulwala. Day 7, Finish at Bundalong and car shuttle if needed.
