What we’re about
Join other local artists in working on all kinds of art.
We began as a group focused on Artist Trading Cards (ATCs), which are small (3.5- x 2.5-inch) works of original art. We've expanded into all kinds of other mixed-media genres, such as altered books, art journals, painting, stamping, collage, and more. (See "About Us" for much more detail.)
Our group is open to adult artists and craftspeople (you must be 18+ to join) at all experience levels. Our current members range from professional artists to near-newbies. We offer a variety of demos at our monthly Meetups in Natick, and we're looking to meet more frequently and in other locations. Everyone is welcome at our events—we just ask that you RSVP to let us know you're attending.
This group, which began in mid-2007, has quickly evolved into a lively, highly creative community. As one member puts it: "You feel like you're 'in the flow' from the moment you walk in the door." And yet it's not all about self-expression: Without exception, members have been extraordinarily generous about sharing ideas, techniques and tools.
Signing up for events is easy. Just join this Meetup group (membership is free). Then RSVP "yes" for the events that interest you.
Bottom line: We take art seriously, but we have a LOT of fun. And we welcome newcomers. Join us.

See all- 17th Annual Holiday Party is on Dec. 14th in MEDFIELD!Episcopal Church of the Advent, Medfield, MA
Our 17th Annual Holiday Party will be held at the Church of the Advent in MEDFIELD (not Natick).
We want to see how many of you are interested, so please RSVP early!
POSSIBLE ACTIVITIES:
- GOODIE BAG EXCHANGE: Are people still interested in continuing to participate in this NE-MMM tradition? If yes, please sign up by Friday, November 22nd by replying to the latest discussion I started on Nov. 7th. If we get five or more people the exchange can go on. Everyone interested will be notified on the November 25th if we're doing the exchange and how the total number of bags you need to put together. Participants in this activity should show up by 1:30 p.m. with an EMPTY shopping bag or box and the goodies put together for each exchange participant.
- MYSTERY GIFTS: No advance signup required! To participate, bring a small wrapped gift (without your name on it anywhere) and leave it where indicated. Suggested cost is $10 and somehow related to art (supplies, tools, books, etc.). We'll hand out the gifts randomly at about 2:30 p.m. and try to guess who gave what.
- OTHER ACTIVITIES: Ideas?
As always, participation in any activity is optional.
WHAT SUPPLIES SHOULD I BRING? There's a suggested list in "All About the NE-MMM Meetup" (click the "More" tab, then "Message Boards;" it's right at the top). But don't bring much; we'll have activities going on most of the day.
POTLUCK LUNCH: Please bring something for our potluck lunch. It's a holiday; let's make it really special. Just remember that you must take, give away, or throw away any food you bring; we can't leave anything behind.
FREE STUFF/SALE ITEMS: None this time please.
COST: $15, regardless of when you arrive or depart. If you can kick in a little extra, this will help the Meetup with activities in 2024 and beyond. The Meetup organization has raised its rates to $300/year for this website and rent of $70 - $100 for use of the venues.
- Reminder: Cash is preferred; small bills are greatly appreciated. You can pay by check, Venmo and PayPal — see Pat. If this is a hardship, let the organizers know and we'll work something out.
RSVPs: Please RSVP "yes" to attend; that way, we'll have an approximate headcount, and you'll receive all notifications about the Meetup. If your plans change, just change your RSVP to "no." If you can't access Meetup, please try to contact the organizers directly to let them know you aren't coming.
LAST-MINUTE UPDATES: Please check your email in box and the website before leaving for the Meetup. That way, if we're running late -- or in the unlikely event that we need to cancel due to bad weather or any other reason -- you'll be sure to get the news.
