What we’re about
The main benefit of this group is that all hikes are easily accessible by transit, and we carpool to any events outside of the lower mainland. I'm looking to make this a regular get together for new hikers and experienced hikers alike. This group makes it easy to meet new people, and we have lots of friendly, social conversations and chat on our hikes. Whether you're looking to join us for a specific event, or to be a reoccurring attendee to make new friends, this group is for you!
Group Recommendations:
*This group is fairly laid-back and casual. We're open to everyone, and we have members with varying levels of fitness and ability
*These events are social days, so don't book other things after our events, as they often run over-time
*Photos are uploaded by members and the Event Host. The Event Host will usually upload photos 1 to 3 days after the Event
Group Safety:
*Event Descriptions are updated for every event. They'll let you know if you need to pack more, or if you can pack less. This benefits you to know.
*Read the Event Descriptions to see what you need to bring to each Event.
*Different Event Hosts can enforce different rules more strictly or not at all depending on what they feel comfortable with, and depending on the difficulty of the Event.
*Always bring up any safety concerns for you or others to the Event Host.
Event Difficulty Ratings: (viewable in the Event Descriptions)
Easy: Elevation 0 to 450meters
Intermediate: Elevation 450 to 1000meters
Hard: Elevation 1000 to 2000meters
Very Hard: 2000+ meters

About the hike:
Jim Kelly Peak and Illal Mountain are a duo of peaks located near Coquihalla Pass, set within a scenic area known as Illal Meadows. While easily doable as a day hike, many parties choose to camp in Illal Meadows and spend a couple of days exploring one (or more) of the nearby peaks. These two peaks are generally suitable for all parties, though Jim Kelly Peak does involve some fairly straightforward class 2 scrambling.Route: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/jim-kelly-mountain-coquihalla-mountain-illal-peak-c6ae917?u=m&sh=xj82va
