What we’re about
Welcome to the Nottingham Humanist Book Club!
We read and meet to discuss thought-provoking books on topics related to the humanist outlook on life: philosophy, science, ecology, ethics, politics.
Everybody's welcome to participate, even if you're not a member of Humanists UK. Meet like-minded individuals who share an interest in critical thinking, rationalism, and humanism.
We'll explore thought-provoking ideas in a friendly and welcoming environment.
We hope to see you at our next meeting!

The first meeting of the Nottingham Humanist Book club will be an occasion to get to know each other, discuss what humanism means for us, and look forward to our readings in the new year.
We may use some passages from "the little book of humanism" by Alice Roberts and Andrew Copson as starting talking points.
You don't need to have read the book to come to the meeting, you just need to have an interest in humanist values.Going forward, in the first couple of meetings of 2025 we plan to read these books:
"Humankind" by Rutget Bregman
"Humanly Possible" by Sarah BakewellI look forward to meet you all.
