Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Luigi's, ArnoldLuigi's Ristorante, Nottingham
We've done an East Asian and African restaurant, now it's time for a European. Luigi's is a very reasonably priced Italian restaurant in Arnold, with a whole page of vegetarian and vegan choices. You can see that on Facebook but I'll also upload it to Photos below.
I've only booked for 4 as I'm not sure how many can make it. If we get a waitlist I can try and enlarge the booking; that's more likely to happen sooner than later so do sign up as soon as you know you can come.
And as ever please only sign up if you *do* definitely intend to come, and take your name off if your circumstances change. If members repeatedly fail to turn up to booked/limited space events they will be removed from the group.
- Le Petit Vert, FarnsfieldLe Petit Vert, Newark
Having done a few Nottingham restaurants that aren't veg*n but just have reasonable veg*n options I thought we might try a few genuinely veg*n restaurants that are a bit further from Nottingham. Beginning with Le Petit Vert, which is an all-veggie vegan-friendly place in Farnsfield, a village between Blidworth and Southwell.
"Bringing a little bit of continental culture to our neck of the woods with a focus on sustainability and ethical living. Le Petit Vert is an all day bistro and café with a French twist, situated in the lovely village of Farnsfield, twinned with Andouille! Serving brunch in the mornings and small plates from midday, we ensure everyone is able to enjoy a meal with us as our entire menu is vegetarian and everything can be made plant based too. Join us for a café au lait, a couple of cocktails, or a meal of wonderful small plates to share! Au revoir et à bientôt"
Since Saturday evening at shortish notice didn't work, let's try Saturday lunchtime as I'd first intended! Hopefully a month and a half's notice will be enough time for more people to have empty diaries. :)
The "Petits Plats" is the relevant part of the menu. We can expand the booking beyond 6 if there's enough interest, but the sooner the better so do sign up as soon as possible if you're interested. There is one bus to and from Nottingham, the Sherwood Arrow, but public transport in general will be difficult so if anyone in a car can offer lifts that would be appreciated.
- Crocus Cafe evening mealThe Crocus Cafe, Nottingham
Let's visit the Crocus Cafe for its all-vegan weekend evening menu. It has a different regional cuisine theme each week, which they decide on the Tuesday so we won't know what it is till then. The menu is based on 'small plates' each of which costs £5 to £7. You can have a decent meal with two plates or go for more, perhaps sharing with others. They also have desserts and lots of types of drinks: hot, soft, alcoholic, smoothies etc. Last orders are at 9pm and closing time at 10.
The cafe is a community one, based on volunteer labour, but subsidised and with professional chefs who create imaginative vegan versions of traditional dishes. You can find out more on the website, Facebook page, Instagram or Twitter. Since we will be putting in orders together on one menu sheet per table it will be important to identify who's ordering and paying for what.
As with other meal events that are booked with specific numbers or where seating space is limited, I ask that you please make an effort to attend if you sign up, and change your RSVP to No if you no longer can.
