Yoga to relax, restore and rejuvenate

Details

Envelope yourself in deep rest. Let the stress go and enjoy coming home to yourself. All levels of yoga experience welcome.

My 60 minute yin classes involve slow, supported stretches that are held for up to 5 minutes. Class starts with a 5 to 10 minute guided breathing and grounding practice, followed by 40 minutes of deep, restorative stretches and finishes with a 5 to 10 minute guided meditation.

My yin classes are hosted in person Sunday evenings (5.30pm - 6.30pm) and Tuesday evenings (6.45pm - 7.45pm) at St Paul’s Lutheran Church Hall, Nundah.

When
Tuesdays, 6.45pm

Where
St Paul's Church Hall, 1 Atthow Parade, Nundah

Cost
$20 (drop in rate)

What to expect
I teach my yin yoga classes with blocks, bolsters and gentle, relaxing music playing in the background. I guide students through postures and breathing techniques with verbal instructions and demonstrations.
My yin classes are very slow tempo and I encourage students to listen to their bodies, adjusting as they need to before finding stillness in poses. I lead students through breathing practices and end my classes with guided meditations in the final resting pose, Savasana.

Getting there and setting up

  • I recommend arriving at the venue 5-10 minutes before the start of class to give yourself plenty of time to set up and settle in.
  • There are plenty of carparks available at the carpark behind the church, accessible from 1 Atthow Parade.
  • Upon arrival, come into the building that is to the left of the church. Entrance is marked by my blue A-Frame Om Yoga Collective sign. Enter up the small set of stairs and into the hall.
  • Spaces will be set up with blocks and bolsters - choose where you’d like to unroll your mat. Feel free to get comfortable before class starts.
  • I honour your time so you can expect class to start and finish on time. If you’re running late - that’s totally fine. Just come one in, set up and join in on the practice when you’re ready.

About your teacher
Katie has been practicing yoga for 7 years, and has just started on her yoga teaching journey.

Inspired by the transformational effect yoga had on her while dealing with burn out, chronic fatigue and severe anxiety, Katie decided to pursue studies in the traditional, sacred and ancient practice of yoga. Her love affair with yoga was buoyed by the beautiful Adrienne Mishler and Kassandra Reinhardt.

Katie graduated her 350hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training with Zama Yoga in 2021. She is a level 1 Teacher registered with Yoga Australia. Katie continues to deepen her understanding of yoga and is currently expanding her knowledge of Yin yoga (something she is incredibly passionate about) by completing her 100hr Yin Yoga Teacher Training with MyHealth Yoga, learning from the incredibly knowledgeable Carolina Vega.

If you're not sure whether this class is for you, or if you have any questions you would like answered, please feel free to reach out to me! I'd love to connect with you.
