Something evil is trapping the souls of the dead and draining life from all who have been raised from death by magic. This worldwide “death curse” not only prevents the raising of the dead, but also causes creatures that were previously raised from the dead to wither and die. The source of this death curse lies in a trap-filled tomb hidden beneath a lost city in the depths of a vast jungle.
The story thus far:
The adventurer's heeded a call for help from the jungles of Chult. Upon arrival, they were met with a call to Camp Vengeance. Arriving there, after defeating a Zombie Tyrannosaurs, the commander requested help in rescuing one of his officers, who went missing on his way to meet with the Arrakoa in order to exchange intelligence as to what is causing the stranger than usual presence of undead. The group discovered the apparent kidnappers camp and got word the officer had already returned safely. Heading back to camp, they arrive to be greeted by the commander, who informed them that the exchange with the Arrakoa revealed that something was going on in the lost city of Omu, and the name "Acererak" and tasked 2 expeditions to search for more clues.
The first expedition had found the remains of a shrine when the ground has collapsed around them and found themselves trapped within this shrine. The second Expedition was following clues that might lead to the lost city, when they were ambushed, and were thrown within this shrine as an apparent prison.
Upon finding their way out of the shrine, they encounter a vampire and it's master, with whom they share a common goal to defeat the snake...This Campaign will be run under the Adventurers League Rules for the Forgotten Realms setting.
