Hike Hyland (Richardson Nature Center) followed by Wooden Hill Brewing

Let’s meet for a moderate + paced hike (approx 15:30 - 16:00 minute mile) at Richardson Nature Center. We will hike between 6 & 7 miles depending upon leaders choice. We will meet in front of the nature center building at 6:00 and leave no later than 6:10. If you are not sure how fast 15:30- 16 minute miles are, there are a lot of good trackers for speed available on your smart phone (and are fee apps). The leaders use Map My Run by Under Armor to track time & distance. This park has some bigger hills so that will add to the workout :)

After the hike we can go to Wooden Hill Brewing located just a little over 2 miles from the park for socializing. The address is 7421 Bush Lake Rd, Edina, MN 55439

Things to remember for fall hiking:
1. Dress in layers so if you get warm, you can remove a layer
2. Dress for about 15 degrees warmer than the actual temp. You will get warm hiking.
3. Bring a dry shirt for socializing afterwards to help prevent chills.
4. Decent shoes. Tennis shoes are fine until the snow comes.
5. A headlamp is necessary as it will be dark the entire hike.

Three Rivers Park has rules about which paths dogs are allowed. Because the route can vary, it may be best to leave our furry friends home for this hike.

Please note: If you fall behind and don’t keep up with the group, the hike leader cannot wait for you, or go back looking for you as everyone else is relying on the leader to keep the hike moving. Having All Trails as a free app for your phone is a good idea.

Please keep your RSVP updated. It is difficult to know if we should wait for someone if the RSVP is not kept current. If you are running late, place a comment in the event so we know if we should wait. Attendance may be limited at future events if you are a no show.
