Over 50's Western Sydney Funstars

Our group is a Social Activities Group that is open to all people. Our events are generally aimed at people aged 50+ and we welcome singles and couples of all ages who want to attend a variety of events and activities. We aim to provide people who attend our events and activities with a safe and welcoming environment in which to meet people with similar interests.

We focus on events / activities mainly in The Hills, Hawkesbury, Parramatta, Penrith & Blue Mountains and into the City of Sydney, and we do travel to other areas for other events and activities.

We enjoy meeting new people, making new friends, eating out, movies, picnics, live music, theatre, concerts, dancing & dance lessons, travel - overseas & local, walks & so much more. \

If you have something you would like to do, we welcome your suggestions & encourage all members to host events. Speak to one of the Event Organisers for help.

Fees

PLEASE NOTE:  We have a $5 joining fee, payable once we review and approve your request to join our group & an annual $5 membership fee each year after that.

These membership fees are used to cover our administration costs to be part of the Meetup platform & are non-refundable.

Membership fees are payable no later than 1 Dec each year and are payable to our group bank account, details of which will be sent to you on approval of membership. We do not accept cash payments.

Reminders about membership fees will be sent out to all members from November onwards.

Although we all are about having fun there are some important points that need to be followed.
• A clear profile photo must be uploaded on joining. Please do not load a photo of flowers, scenery or animals, otherwise how will we recognise you.
If you are using nicknames or first names in your profile, we will need to know your full name in order to match payments up to your membership.
We welcome Plus ones guests at our events however if there is a wait list, first preference will always be given to financial members.
• If bringing a guest/s please provide their name to the Event Organise or Event Host. \

We will not tolerate:
•  Any member/s who are disrespectful towards others, members & non members, under any circumstances. 
•  Any member/s displaying unwanted behaviour or attention, written or verbal, towards other members or non members.
**Anybody displaying these types of behaviour will be removed from the group. \

• All members & their guests acknowledge that they participate in all events/activities at their own risk & will not hold The Group, the Leader/s or others involved in organising events/activities responsible for your health, safety & insurance. We do not accept responsibility for accidents or injury that may occur during events/activities. \

• if you are unable to attend an event that you have RSVP'd "YES" to please change your RSVP to "NO" ASAP. If you are no-show 3 times you will be removed from the group.  
Refund Policy: 
• Membership fees are Non Refundable.
• Event deposits are non refundable if you are a "No Show" or your RSVP is not changed 1 day prior to the event.
• Once we have paid a venue /activity for an event members payments are non refundable. In the event a member is unable to attend & wishes to onsell their ticket/s it will be the members responsibility to organise this. Ticket/s can only be onsold to another member, please check with the host beforehand.

BY JOINING THIS GROUP YOU ACCEPT ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Please Note:

We ask that you ONLY RSVP to an event if you genuinely intend to go to that event. Please don't put your name down because it looks interesting, and you may or may not go. We understand that unexpected situations can occur, but we have noticed that some members put their name down to some of our events on a regular basis and and then pull out at the last moment. Other members have missed out on attending events in the past because of this. Members who continually RSVP and then pull out will be considered as being disrespectful towards the members of the group and will be removed from the group. Please refer to acceptable behaviours listed below.

First preference will always be given to financial members of the group.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope to continue to post a variety of events that are interesting and safe for people to attend.
