Grade: C
Length: 6 miles
Ascent: 360m
Pace: Medium
Our walk will commence from the minor road C416 (which is National Cycle Route 775), about 200m southwest of the bridge where it crosses over the M90. We will proceed up to Balmanno Hill via Edmunds Grave and then onwards through varied terrain in a general anti-clockwise direction towards Clochridgestone. We will then proceed down to and along the old dismantled railway line towards and through the railway tunnels, returning to the start point shortly after. The two curved tunnels are each 500m long, and you will be walking in total darkness for the most part of them. Bring a torch!

Notes. You will need a reasonable level of agility to complete this walk. There are several gates and fences to clamber over. Some short sections of the terrain may be boggy and slippy, especially the transit around the gorse bush area after Balmanno hill. Sorry, dogs can not be allowed due to the many cattle grazing around the hill.

Non-specific parking will be on the C416 roadside near the start point. While the road is reasonably wide please use the grassy verge if possible, car sharing is encouraged to limit local inconvenience
