Muogamarra Nature Reserve is only open to the public for six weeks of the year, this being the last day. All guided tours were sold out months ago, but don't worry, I've booked in to conduct our own private tour complete with maps supplied by the Visitors Centre and sign posts along the way plus my expertise. (All car spaces and attendance numbers for Muogamarra Reserve were totally booked by early August so I have the only remaining bookings for the event)

Our adventure starts from the Visitors Centre with a walk to Peats Crater then eventually to Peats Bight on roads constructed by convicts in the good old days. We'll discover many historical features and relics (besides me) such as an ancient guest house, wharves and impressive landscapes.

We pass through rainforest areas and mangroves on our way to Peats Bight for lunch with spectacular views overlooking Berowra Waters and Hawkesbury River. Don't forget to bring lunch.

I could go on all day about this beautiful sanctuary but I'll just give you some details. Our journey takes us through a protected environment on a 10 kilometre hike and we should endure for at least four hours by the time we explore, relax and navigate a few steep sections, some rough passages and of course many steps. Not really a walk suitable for beginners as it is graded as hard in general but ok for my hardy regulars.

We'll meet at the shops on the highway at Berowra opposite the station then depart at 8:30 (no later) for carpool to the entrance of the Reserve by 9:00 where we will be meet by a Park Ranger then drive the three kilometres to the Visitors Centre.

Now for the high finance. I've paid in advance for 12 people including entrance fees and car parking in the Reserve so it works out $16 per person all up. Three cars, four people in each car. If you're driving call me so we can arrange carpool.
