Welcome, fellow walker!
We understand that most people are busy and have jobs that they have to attend to during the week.
But many of us also try to maintain a basic level of health or fitness as well.
There's many things you can do to stay in shape. But not many of them can you network with people and develop friendships with the fresh-air moving through your hair in one of the most friendly places in the world.
That's what this walking event is for... to be a strong contender for what you do after-work to exercise and also to enjoy yourself socially on a weekday.
The way it works is it is a "power-walk" at a reasonably fast pace for 1-hour along the Yarra River.
We will walk for 30-minutes in one direction, have a short 2-min break for you to catch your breath and then head back to where we started.
Don't worry about proper power-walking form or technique - I certainly don't. It's just walking briskly to get your heart-rate up.
You can talk during the walk if you're not too puffed out.
This event happens on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Tuesday: 2x Laps on the Botanical Gardens
- Thursday: Capital City Trail (Along the Yarra)
We always meet at Fed Square and end there too.
We will always wait 10-minutes and start walking at 6.10pm. We will try to finish no later that 7.30pm.
The walk costs $2 as an administration fee and to help promote the group on Instagram. You can pay cash or card when you arrive.
Hope you can make it!
