Sunshine Social Hike 12/8: Wild Horse to Garwood Dam 😁☀️

Let’s enjoy a social hike in the beautiful Saguaro Park East by taking the Wild Horse to Garwood Dam trail! With little elevation, gorgeous views and a crested saguaro (!), it’s an easy nature stroll out east where Speedway ends 🌵

This trail is a 4 mile out and back with 334 feet gain according to AllTrails and should take us two hours and fifteen minutes with time for pictures and breaks. We may see some horses along the trail but dogs are not permitted, unfortunately.

We will convene at the trailhead at 7:45am for introductions and group pictures…let’s shoot to start hiking by 8:00. Finishing the hike shortly after 10:15, we will meet at 10:45ish at Le Buzz Cafe for breakfast.

Please bring water and sunscreen, hiking poles are not necessary unless you like them for comfort. The weather forecast right now calls for 49 degrees at the start and 62 degrees by the time we finish (a layer or two is recommended).

The trailhead is large but popular, with many people parking their cars along Speedway if the trailhead lots are full. Please note there are two trailheads close to each other, gps ‘wild horse trailhead’ for the one that’s west of the two.
