What we’re about
Meditation (noun): the practice of concentrated focus upon a sound, object, visualization, the breath, movement, or attention itself in order to increase awareness of the present moment, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance personal and spiritual growth.
Queer (noun): originally pejorative for gay. Now being reclaimed by some lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgendered and intersex (LGBTI) persons as a self-affirming umbrella term.

Queer Meditation Melbourne creates a safe and harmonious space for members of the wider LGBTI community to meditate and engage in meaningful discussion around health, wellness and community.
It is our hope that we can create and support a community of like-minded people who wish to uncover or further develop practices that enhance there inner life and bringing more peace, happiness and contentment. We are secular and non-religious but draw on techniques based on eastern traditions.
We meet weekly and sit for an hour or so. The group has a number of facilitators with varying degrees of experience and styles. We venture out for a cheap meal after class. All are welcome.
