What we’re about

Drawing inspiration from London Writers Salon, an online community where writers come together to write for an hour, I have created ‘Readers’ Hour’—a community for those who want to make reading a daily habit, but struggle to find the time to make it a consistent practice. We’re here to help keep each other accountable, learn, and grow together.

At the start of the session, we will share the book we’re reading and what our intention for the session is, then we will have focused silent time to read, and at the end, we will share how we went, something about the book, or something we learnt.

This is different to a book club where the group decides on a book to read and discusses the themes and their opinions of the book. In Readers’ Hour, you can bring along any book you are currently reading and are not obliged to share if you don’t feel like it.

So grab a hot drink, get cosy, and come along to join us for a focused hour of reading!

Timings (AEDT):

  • 9:00am - Check-In: What’s your focus?
  • 9:05am - Reading time!
  • 9:55am - Check-Out: How'd you go?
