This group is for people who want to feel confident on the dance floor in social situations. We have been introducing complete beginners to the fun of Rock & Roll dancing since 2000 because we make social dancing fun.
Rock & Roll dancing is a great easy way to meet people, have fun and keep fit all while learning to dance. Join us every Thursday evening or a few times a year. Whether you come along on your own or bring a partner, we will endeavour to make you feel welcome.
At our club it’s so easy to meet everyone because during the class, the teacher guides you to rotate by one to a new dance partner. The benefit of this transition is it speeds up your progress. From your very first night you will be dancing with more experienced dancers which helps you to feel more confident with the steps.
Belonging to Panthers Rock & Roll Club makes you part of the largest social group of dancers in the world, with hundreds of Rock & Roll, East Coast Swing or Jive clubs around the world, within Australia and New Zealand or overseas.
Along with weekly Thursday night classes, Panthers Rock & Roll club also hosts the Retro Fest dance festival and Autumn Dance. We are a non-profit incorporated club that has thrived for more than 25 years; run by an annually elected committee. Our club motto is “fun, unity, enjoyment and friendship”.

The Port Macquarie Panthers Rock & Roll Dance Club is social dancing for adults in the Port Macquarie-Hastings district. If you are new to Panthers Rock & Roll you can purchase an introductory pass - 6 nights for $60 - pay at the door. Our next Introductory course starts on Thursday 1 August 2024 at 6.30pm.
After you’ve completed a 6 week “Intro” class, there are weekly Beginner and Intermediate classes to help you achieve your goal of becoming a comfortable or more versatile social dancer.
As mentioned, our Thursday “Intro class” starts at 6.30pm, followed by “Beginners” class at 7pm. You’ll be dancing from your first lesson so you might want to wear shoes with a smooth sole that won’t fall off when you dance.
The venue for group classes is the Seniors Centre, 43 Munster Street, Port Macquarie NSW. When you arrive, you pay at the door ($10 for members and joining fee is $15 per year) for the class (CASH only - NO EFTPOS).
Every week we have approximately 20 attendees, so ignore the RSVP numbers you see here. Bring your friends and let’s make Thursday nights unforgettable! There is a tearoom so you can relax and mingle.
