Get ready for Turkey Day with Kickball! Come on out for a morning of fun at Klutho Park (204 W 3rd St Jacksonville). No experience necessary - just a great attitude and willingness to have fun. Afterwards, feel free to join us at Crispy's (1735 N Main St) for lunch.

Ready for a weekend getaway? This is a great place that can accommodate something for everyone. Kayaking, biking, swimming, hiking, and entertainment while renting a camp site, cabin or RV site. More will be added to this as we get closer so mark you calendars and reserve! Space is limited by SRRR offerings. Do NOT wait to reserve… you will miss out!
Friday: Arrival, set up, we will gather and then 7pm bingo
Saturday: Kayak- 6 mile run with 4 stops at different springs. Total time on the water is 4 hours unless we stay at the springs longer.
Pot luck and gathering for dinner with trivia and karaoke starting at 6:30pm. During the afternoon, they have pigeon races and chicken poop bingo if you want some real fun.
Sunday: Morning hike or another activity and departure
Under photos is the rates for camping. I have stayed in a couple of cabins and camped here. I’m not sure how many tent are allowed on each site. I have stayed several times so if you want my opinion on a site or rental, just ask. Great property to really come out and hang out.

Excited about the paddles! Below is some information.
Sat morning - 2 paddles to decide on.....
Launch at -
Lafayette Blue Springs: 12 mile paddle (about 6 hrs, total longer paddle)
State park so you may need to pay $5 per car for parking
Great run…..First 6 miles has some springs but you will need to look for them - smaller and privately owned.
Then after Hal W Adams bridge (Hwy 51) ramp see below about run…
Hwy 51: 6 Miles (about 4 hours - depends how long you are at each springs)
All springs were on the left side while kayaking
1. Telford Spring - about .25 M from launch
2. Peacock Camp Ground about 2.0 M from Telford- lunch spot and possible hike - up to you
3. Running Springs - 1.5 M from PCG- 2 springs at stop
4. Bathtub Springs - 2 M from Running Spring
5. Convict Springs - .5 M from Bathtub Spring
Boat ramp just a pinch down from convict springs for pullout
Notes: Have an idea of which 1 you want to kayak - I am kayaking Hwy 51 (Start is 10am - all on the water) but if you want a longer paddle, it is easy to plan out. We have multiple kayakers going that may want longer paddles.
Weather: Can’t control but it will be hot!

Four times per year (March, June, September, December), the club holds a planning meeting. This is where the next three months of activities are tentatively discussed and put on a calendar and where YOU come in. The planning meeting is open to EVERYONE and you are encouraged to come and participate. Come out and express your desire for a specific event or even better yet – VOLUNTEER to lead an event you have a passion for. Sidetrackers Christmas camping or cabin event at Mike Roess Goldhead State Park by Keystone Heights Florida off State Road 21/ Blanding. I posted a few months ago to reserve your camping or cabin sites because at the time they were available. The Lake loop campsites are about 100 yards from the cabins that reside along the lake. The cabins are either for a couple or the larger ones for 4 folks ,I did reserve a campsite and a cabin just in case someone needs a place. Goldhead State Park is close to Jacksonville so if folks just want to come out for the day ,they'll be able to do so on Saturday or Friday afternoon. Planning some hikes as well as biking ,looking into kayaking nearby since the park only has a small lake. There will be a group dinner get together on Saturday as well as a Whit Elephant gift exchange, gifts should be in a gift bag or box ,keep cost around $20 . I'll will be adding more information in the next couple of weeks, contact me on any questions at 904 517 2321 Vic and post your cabin number or campsite number and rsvp to see who's attending.

Wonderwood Bridge Walk: We will meet at 6:45pm at BBQ Barn at 14025 Mt. Pleasant Road, right before the Wonderwood Bridge. If you need more time to deal with traffic, please use MeetUp App or contact me and we can have a second group start around 7:15 pm or so. We will start at BBQ Barn and walk over the Wonderwood Bridge toward Hanna Park, go about 2 to 2.5 miles and turn back for a total of 4 to 5 miles . Afterwards we will grab a bite to eat at the BBQ Barn. Please dress accordingly for weather, as it is a bit breezy on top of bridge. If you have a flashlight, please bring it or let me know and I'll bring a few extra flashlights there's a small stretch of a quarter mile where you'll need some light.

Ho Ho Ho! Annual PAID Membership Holiday Party! Excited for us to come together to celebrate the season and share some heavy appetizers. Since we are an outdoor group, we will have an area on the patio for our celebration. They have heaters if it is chilly and a full bar for you to purchase a variety of drinks. They will have a calypso style live music.

Membership must be paid for 2024 and NO additional memberships will be accepted for 2024. RSVP will be checked so please do not sign up unless you are a paid memeber.

This event will be limited to 45 people.
