Welcome to Singles in the DMV!
Are you single and frustrated with dating apps and the time consumption of swiping? Missing that 1:1 connection?
So are we!
Come join us in the journey of fun conversations, events and adventures as we will be hosting in person singles events in the DMV.
This group is for singles 30s and up.
Rules of engagement:
Respect and Kindness:
Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and consideration. Harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behavior based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or any other characteristic will not be tolerated. Communicate openly and respectfully with other members.
Boundaries and No Pressure:
Respect personal boundaries. Avoid pressuring anyone into giving personal information or agreeing to activities they are not comfortable with.
Safety:
Be aware of your surroundings and report any concerns to the organizers.
Feedback:
Provide constructive feedback to the organizers after the meetup to help improve future events.
These rules help create a respectful and safe environment where participants can enjoy meeting new people without feeling pressured or uncomfortable.
Enjoy yourself and have fun, but do so responsibly and considerately towards others.

We’ve rented out Hot Fired Arts in Frederick, MD for a fun, guided canvas paint!
If you don’t think you’re much of an artist - don’t worry! These guided sessions are really easy and fun, and everyone can be proud of their unique masterpiece.
Here’s the details:

the event will be a fundraiser, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Small Miracles Cat and Dog Rescue in Ellicott City, MD. If you want to learn about the amazing work they do, check out their website: https://smallmiraclesrescue.org/

the cost is $45 per person plus tax for the private, 2 1/2 hour guided paint session

we’ll be painting a 16x20 canvas. The image will be a sunset with animals in the foreground (pretty sure they’re customizing something for us based on our fundraiser so I don’t have an image yet, but you can check ot samples of their canvases on their website)

the venue is BYOB! So bring any snacks and beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) to enjoy while you paint

Had to move this to Friday Nov 22 from Nov 21st due to scheduling issues at the location.
We will be doing our next Singles Mixer at Backwater Books in Historic Old Town Ellicott City. The event starts at 5:30pm but goes until 7:30 so just get there when you can after work. There will be some other singles groups there as well.
We will meet upstairs in the Bibliopub which is the bar area. They have beer and wine and some very light snacks items on the menu. And of course there are lots of books and places to lounge around.
