Sisterhood ACT

I started this group because I wanted to meet women who were in a similar situation to me. Women who through no fault of their own have found themselves isolated, lonely and bored. I have no family in Canberra and a son who is now well on the way to being independent. That frees me up for much more time to have fun and new experiences.

The first thing you should know about Sisterhood is that it isn't like any other Meetup group and I make no apologies for that. This group is all about developing strong supportive networks/friendships between women who are more like family, therefore, we expect our sisters to commit to attending at least one event a month. A lot of women can not or do not want to make that kind of commitment which is fair enough! So if you can't commit then this isn't the group for you.

If you can commit, great! You'll probably want to know, what kind of women joins a group like Sisterhood? The short answer, is any woman who wants to have fun, who is intelligent, enjoys communicating and sharing thoughts, ideas and stories. It doesn't matter if you are married, single, living with someone, a single mum, childless, a professional, a student, unemployed, spiritual, religious or atheist. It also doesn't matter what country you come from as all are welcome!

This group is for women of all ages and transgender are welcome. So come along and help to make something special and lasting! After all, I've made some of my dearest and closest friends through Sisterhood and you could too!
