You are invited to join us at the Inaugural TRIUMPH TALKS series**, Winning the War Within.**
What is Winning the War Within?
Have you ever wondered what makes people flourish with a life that is meaningful and satisfying? What contributes to happiness, resilience and the quality of life? How one capitalizes on one’s strengths, connects with others, learns to forgive and increases gratitude and awareness? It all comes from winning the war within.
Join us on Wednesday, October 9th from 7-8:30 pm to hear ten speakers share their stories of winning their own war within. These stories inspire us with a range of personal strategies, including shifting a perspective, changing a belief, discovering one’s personal strength, accepting what is and being willing to be vulnerable and ask for help just to name a few. You will leave motivated with increased confidence in your own resilient abilities to tackle today’s toughest challenges head on and feel comforted that you are not the only one who is challenged with internal blocks. The talks are short, but the speakers will be available to answer any further questions you might have.
The show also features inspiring entertainment with live music by Marrialle Sellars, a finalist in American Idol season 13 with a soulful voice.
Why at the Indiana War Memorial?
When I was visiting the building as a potential site for a fundraiser, I fell in love. After riding in the charming historic elevator to the second floor, I stepped out and took three steps into the enormously tall Shrine Room. Immediately I felt a spiritual shift and as I looked up to the top I felt like I was looking into heaven. It’s an experience like no other I’ve ever had. Others that have been there also feel it. And most people in the greater Indianapolis area, don’t even know it is there. All throughout the building are words promoting peace, kindness, patriotism, evoking the call to live lawfully, respectfully, in community.
Coming to hear our speakers will give you that reason to visit inside the memorial building you’ve probably driven by a million times. It is Indy’s best kept secret.
The Pershing auditorium, where the event will be held is also a delight to the eyes, built in the Art Deco form of the 1920-30’s era and said to have a sound system so good that microphones are really not needed.
There will be an opportunity to visit the Shrine Room, before and after the Show.
Altogether, the evening promises to be a moving experience.
