What we’re about
The South Florida Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)® welcomes you. ISSA® is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. It provides educational forums, publications and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill and professional growth of its members.
We bring together a wide range of IT Security professionals from the South Florida area. We have members from Ft. Pierce to the Keys. We draw from a wide range from independent consultants to those working in government, public and private corporations, non-profits, and educational institutes; and our member also range from students up to those in the "c-suite".
We meet monthly on the Third Thursday of each month. Our standard location is at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, but we plan on having 3 meetings in Dade and 3 in the Palm Beaches. We typically have at least a couple of speakers each month. Presentations must be technical, no sales pitches.
*** ALL are welcome to attend our monthly Chapter meetings, FREE of charge. We ask that after attending 3 meetings (annually) you would consider joining and receiving the complete benefits of membership, such as earning CPEs, and discounted attendance to local conferences, etc. (CPEs are only made available to PAID members in good standing). To join, visit our website at www.sfissa.org and click "Join SFISSA" at the top, which will take you to the ISSA page to join (please be sure to also join the South Florida Chapter). ***
We have an annual Hack the Flag/Chili Cook Off event, usually toward the end of the summer, and a biannual Conference, usually around March in odd numbered years.
