What we’re about
Let's get together again for coffee, walks, meals, cinema, theatre shows and have fun - all suggestions welcome. We're a friendly bunch!
Please make sure you have a clear photo of your face on your profile, so we can recognise you when you come to an event. I'm afraid that we don't accept requests for membership if you don't have a clear profile photo of yourself.
The cost of membership is £5 each year (from December 2023 to December 2024) . This is to cover the cost of the Meetup Group website.
All members will be asked to pay £5 in December 2023 for the following year.
We look forward to meeting you at an event soon!

See all- Let's go to see the band 'Colosseum' at the 1865The 1865 Club, Southampton
Colosseum are an English jazz rock band, mixing blues, rock and jazz-based improvisation. They have been around in various formats since 1968.
Colosseum reunited on 24 June 1994 at the Freiburg Zelt Musik Festival, with the same line-up as when they split in 1971.
Colosseum then reunited again after the death of Jon Hiseman to play selected shows in 2020.
The current line-up is Chris Farlowe, Clem Clempson and Mark Clarke, joined by Kim Nishikawara (sax), Adrian Askew (keys, organ) and Malcolm Mortimore (drums).Over the years, they have toured extensively in Germany Russia, Italy and now in the UK. Fans of one of the world’s greatest rock bands will be delighted at the news that Colosseum will be embarking on major tours of the UK and Germany during 2023/2024 following the success of the band's latest CD "Restoration" and the wonderful reaction to shows in 2022.
The reunited progressive rock group will feature original members including legendary lead singer Chris Farlowe, alongside lead guitarist Clem Clempson and bass player and vocalist Mark Clarke. But it will also introduce exciting new musicians Nick Steed (keyboards), Kim Nishikawara (saxophones) and Malcolm Mortimore (drums).
This is a seated gig (unusual for the 1865) and I will be waiting for their current version of Walking in the park (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEur9VMrS80)
If this is your sort of thing, tickets can be purchased here :- https://www.the1865.store/events/colosseum £25 each plus service charges.
