Elevate your creative practice by discovering the art of watercolor. Explore abstraction and step away from photorealism. Instead, learn to embrace the looseness of this medium to create expressive depictions full of atmosphere and depth.
This is a transparent watercolor class, which means that we will be working on white paper and learning to preserve light areas (instead of using gouache/white paint).
I will share some of my sketches from my travels and encourage you to experiment with artful splashes of paint. Topics include: wet-into-wet, glazing, pen and ink techniques, washes, and more. We will work mostly from direct observation instead of using photographs. We will paint the still life and landscape. Occasionally, we will study master copies by Winslow Homer and other noteworthy fine artists/illustrators.
Supply list will be provided upon registration.
